Motorbike Theft Prevention – Help Us Keep Your Bike Safe
We’re seeing an increase in motorbike thefts across the area, with thieves targeting bikes parked on driveways, outside homes, and in public locations.
You can reduce the risk of becoming a victim by taking a few simple precautions: Always use a quality disc lock, chain, or ground anchor. Park in a secure garage where possible, or in a well-lit, busy area. Consider fitting a GPS tracker or approved security device. Never leave your keys unattended or within reach near doors and windows. Record your bike’s VIN/frame number, registration, and take clear photographs.
If you notice anyone acting suspiciously around parked motorcycles or trying door handles and gates, please report it. Your information could help prevent a theft or identify those responsible.
If your motorbike is stolen, report it to us immediately by calling 101 or reporting online. If a theft is happening now, or you see suspects actively stealing a bike, always call 999.
Together, we can help protect our community and make it harder for thieves to operate.
